Stone walls and wooden cobbles (or setts) recorded in a watching brief carried out by Aberdeen City Council Archaeological Unit between August 2009 and November 2010 on groundworks/resurfacing works across 10 streets associated with the Green Townscape Heritage Initiative. Wooden cassies were encountered across much of the northern part of Sitrling Street except where disturbed by services. All of the cassies (cobbles) were aligned north-south; they were in rows straddling two thin linear timbers. Three sandstone squared C-shape walls were observed in the north-eastern pavement close to the junction with Imperial Place. It is possible that these represented window lights (now blocked) for a cellar; they corresponded with lintels in the building's makeup.
