Full Description

Boundary (March) stone of the Freedom Lands of Aberdeen, inscribed '48 ABD'. It stands at the southeast corner of the garden of 8-16 Marchburn Drive, close to the junction with Oldtown Place. Its style suggests it may be a relatively recent replacement of the late 18th/early 19th century stone which formerly stood here. It is rectangular in section, 0.31m by 0.13m and stands 0.55m high. The top of the east face is bevelled and bears the letters ABD below the number 48. See also NJ90NW0065 for site of earlier stone.
