Full Description
Remains of a rectangular pond or cistern, embanked on the north and west sides is shown on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. An embayed and buttressed wall remains. A rectangular pond It was recorded in field survey carried out by Cameron Archaeology in 2014. The water tank is 20.6m long, the north wall surviving although the rest of the structure remaining as an earthwork. The north wall is a maximum 1.8m high with external buttresses, and is constructed of large granite blocks with cherry cocking. See also NJ90NW0410
