Full Description

Remains of a walled enclosure lies south-east of the Woodside Mill buildings (NJ90NW0410), separated from the main mill by a bridge over a lade. A building is depicted within the enclosure on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The building has since been removed. The enclosure was recorded by Cameron Archaeology in 2014. It measures 32.1m across internally, the wall 0.52m thick. Six buttresses remains on the south wall. There are two gateways, on the northwest and the southwest, both flanked by gate pillars.
