Full Description
Stone set in the wall of 10 Langstance place, probably an ancient boundary stone. A 'Lang Stane' is depicted on the OS 1st edition map. This granite boulder is set into an alcove at the southeast corner of 10 Langstane Place. It measures 1.8m in height by 0.68m in breadth and at least 0.3m in thickness; on the front face of the stone is the incised legend 'LANGSTANE'. Very little is known about its history, but it was probably used as an ancient boundary stone. It is not, however, one of the stones marking the Freedom Lands and Marches of Aberdeen.
