Full Description
Former hospital/almshouses and site of a manse. The manse of the parson of Devenick (NJ90NW1039), 'a great lodging' was demolished in 1720. Mitchell's Hospital is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. This open court of alms houses was built in 1801 and restored and converted to cottages by AHL Mackinnon in 1924 and 1965. It is on an H-plan, single storey, of course rubble. There is a bellcote on the centre gable and sundial in the court.
