Full Description

This was the route of the River Dee prior to its diversion in 1868. On the north side the OS 2nd edition map the fish market and Commercial Quay are present. A dry dock (MAB56934), for the repair and overhauling of steamships, was opened at the eastern end of the Albert Basin in 1885, and is depicted on the OS 2nd edition map. It was demolished between 1924-1927 to enable the construction of an extension to the fish market.

The fish market was rebuilt in the 1970s (Hume 1977).
