Full Description

Quay dating from the 20th century, and site of earlier quay and harbour. Torry Quay and Torry Harbour are shown on the OS 2nd edition map. The present quay overlies the Torry Timber Quay constructed in 1895 and includes the Texaco Quay built 1965-1972. See NJ90NE0206 for old pier, NJ90NE0143 - light tower. Photographic recording of structures on the quay was carried out by HAS in 2010 ahead of proposed harbour developments. Features of 20th century date included a cylindrical blue-painted water tank, the last known example of its type surviving on the quay.
