Full Description

Valve house of the Victorian sewage works. In 1894-96 William Dyack, Burgh Surveyor, undertook a review of the City's sewerage system. Construction on the Girdleness Outfall Scheme which came about from the Aberdeen Corporation Act of 1899, began in 1900. The Girdleness valve house and overflow were completed in 1907 and served as the main sewage outlet for the city until 1985.
