Full Description
Troup House is a 3-storey gabled, asymmetrical 3 and 4-bay mansion house, designed by R.G/ Wilson and dated 1897. It is pink harled with extensive use of tooled grey granite ashlar dressings, and a deep bullfaced granite base course. It has a north facing entrance front with an off-centre round-headed doorway set in a stepped ashlar surround with carved initials, a coat of arms and is flanked by slender engaged columns with crocketted finials. It has a double-leaf panelled door, and large off-centre mullioned and transomed stair windows. Three second floor bipartite windows are set in the gables. The present house replaced the 18th century Troup House (circa 1770) which was sited slightly to northeast, now demolished (NJ86NW0011). The house in now in use as a school.

Built 1897; former service wing demolished c. 1920. Present house replaced the 18th century Troup House (c. 1776-70) which was sited slightly to NE, now demolished.
