Full Description

Church (1851) which replaced an earlier Chapel of Ease. Built in the mid 19th century by architects A. and W. Reid. Plain and rectangular on plan, red rubble with tooled red sandstone ashlar dressings and chamfered margins, and angle buttresses. East facing entrance gable with centre pointed-headed entrance flanked by hoodmoulded lancet windows. Apex bellcote with datestone at base. Four-bay long north and south elevations lit by narrow pointed-headed windows with leaded lattice-pane glazing. Later vestry in rear.

Built 1857 (although previous notes state it is dated 1851); parish created 1860.
