Full Description
New Pitsligo war memorial stands on the west side of the High Street, next to the bowling green. It commemorates the dead of both World War I and II. It is a large imposing rectangular memorial built of coursed granite blocks with the face projecting forward of stepped sides. It is topped with a low pyramidal cap.The inscription and names to World War I are on the main face. Above it is a large bronze feather lying at a slight angle. On either side of the monument are bronze wreaths with 1914 written within one side and 1919 on the other. On the face of basal plinth is the inscription to World War II. The monument sits on a three-step base. A series of steps lead up to the memorial from the street level. It was unveiled July 16, 1922. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
