Full Description

Church, now disused, built in the late 19th century, and associated graveyard. The church is rectangular on plan and built largely of coursed granite rubble, apart from the west front, which is of red sandstone ashlar. The window surrounds in the other elevations are of ashlar sandstone too. The large double-pitch roof is slated. The west gable is the principle elevation and has most of the church's architectural detailing. The central bay of the gable is slightly recessed and has a large pointed-arch window, which rises up towards the gablehead. It has simple plate tracery with a round opening at the top and rectangular openings lower down. Below this window is a plain pointed-arch door with small shoulder-arched windows to either side. Within the churchyard there are two First World War Commonwealth war graves, of Gunner Alexander Reid, Royal Field Artillery, and Trimmer W. Chalmers, Royal Naval Reserve. War memorial stand in the graveyard (NJ84SW0022).
