Full Description

Farmstead, still in use, and site of a mill pond and sluice, depicted on the 1st edition OS map. This shows a group of seven buildings (one on an L-plan annotated threshing mill), one a house with attached garden, and, to the north, a triangular mill pond, sluice and lade. By the 2nd edition map only the house and L-plan building remained, the latter extended to a U-plan steading open to the east. The central and south ranges of the steading are now ruinous, but there have been further additions. The pond does not appear on current maps. Site visit by CFA Archaeology in 2012 ahead of proposed overhead line work noted that the site of the mill pond is now rough ground.
