Full Description

Farmstead still in use. The OS 1st edition map shows a U-plan steading - with extended north wing, a Z-plan range and a rectangular building with an attached enclosure. To the west is a pond and sluice. The layout had been significantly altered by the time of the 1888 2nd edition map which shows an E-plan steading, its courts open to the south, rectangular building with attached enclosure to the south, and a small rectangular building to the north. Further modifications have since taken place, and current OS maps indicate that the east wing of the steading has been removed, and new buildings added to north, west and south. The pond appears to have been infilled. A pair of single storey cottages with dry-dash and slated piended roof are a later addition to the N of the farmstead. A photographic survey of the steading was carried out in 2015.
