Full Description
War memorial, unveiled in September 1921, commemorating those killed in the First and Second World wars. It comprises a granite pillar of finely dressed stone, set on a plain stepped base. This stands on an oval paved area in the middle of the road junction, edged with kerbs and protected by hexagonal tapered bollards. On the west face is a sword of sacrifice and cross within a circle, and the dates 1914 and 1919 . The names of the dead of World War I are inscribed on the north and south faces, those of World War II on the east face.
