Full Description

House and grounds depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The house was designed by James Matthews, 1849-50 in Jacobean style. It is 2-storey with attic, harled with margins. The symmetrical southwest front has a 3-arch entrance porch and twin gables. The north front is symmetrical with a 3-storey ogee capped tower. There is a low 2-storey north wing. To the north of the house is a walled garden and greenhouses to the north of the house, and garden house Moir House (NJ81SE0031). Southeast of the house is a large mill pond with a boat house on its southeast side shown on the OS 2nd edition map. To the south is a lodge.
