Full Description

Farmstead depicted on historic OS maps. They show an L-plan steading with a horsemill on the east side and a long rectangular building to the west. Building survey was carried out by MAS in April 2009. The farmstead was leased in 1902 to Deeside Golf Club and used until 1904 as the club house. The buildings were subsequently used by the green keepers and as stabling for horses used for mowing the greens until 1928. The original stables were in the north wing of the L-plan steading. A watching brief by MAS during soil stripping of the ground adjacent to the buildings recorded no archaeological features or artefacts. A stone to the west of the farmstead depicted on the OS 2nd edition map is in an area now occupied by the Club car park.
