Full Description

Croft, still in use, depicted on maps from the early 19th century. Estate maps of the Blairs Estate dated 1830 and 1842 both show two rectangular buildings set at right angles. The plan is unchanged on the OS 1st edition map of 1865 - the site annotated as Netherlands Croft - but by the time of the 2nd edition OS another building has been added to the north. The buildings were recorded in 2012 by MAS as part of an historic landscape survey of the Blairs estate prior to redevelopment of the estate. Both of the original buildings survive. The west building is of one and a half storeys with stone walls and slate roof. The east building, possibly a byre or workshop, is of a single storey also with stone walls and a slate roof.
