Full Description

Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic maps from the early 19th century. Blairs Estate maps of 1830 and 1842 show two long rectangular buildings aligned north-south and a yard. By the time of the OS 1st edition map the east range had been enlarged to a U-plan, open to the west, and with a horse-mill on the south side, By the time of the 2nd edition an addition has been made to the east side of the U-plan steading, and three new buildings, one a house, added to the west of the orginal structures. The farmstead was recorded in 2012 by MAS as part of an historic landscape survey of the Blairs estate. The house and U-plan steading remain, with recent additions to the south, but the horse-mill and other buildings have been removed.
