Full Description

House, still in use, and park depicted on historic OS maps. It is a small mansion house of complex plan, the north part probably the oldest and dating from the early 18th century. A 2-storey with basement parallel main block, added circa 1750, has a 5-window front, with a projecting 3 storey centre bay with shaped gablet. The north wing was internally remodelled and a 3-storey block with canted bay inserted in the court in the early 19th century. The west wing was added in 1890. The 1st edition shows the house set within a largely open roughly oval plan area surrounded by trees. To the east is an L-plan steading, three smaller buildings and a pond, with a rectangular lodge at the east end of an east drive. By the time of the 2nd edition map as well as the East Lodge, a North Lodge had been added north of the steading. An extension had been added on the southwest side of the house.
