Full Description

Cottages still in use. On the 1869 1st edition OS map a complex system of buildings and enclosures is shown. There are possibly seven buildings, including an L-shaped range at the south-west corner of the site. This appears to have been a farmstead or fermtoun, the majority of which has been removed by the 2nd edition OS map of 1901. Four small buildings, probably cottages, are shown on the 2nd edition map. The south-western building represents the southern range of the former L-shaped building. The 2006 map shows that three of the cottages are still in use, one having been demolished some time after the 2nd edition OS map was surveyed.
