Full Description
War memorial commemorating men of the parish lost in World War I. It is in the form of a cast iron pillar supporting a bronze toposcope (mountain/viewpoint indicator), which is situated in the middle of a circular stone enclosure which also serves as a seat. An inscription on the front of the pillar reads 'To the memory of the men of Newhills Parish and District who gave their lives in the Great War 1914 - 1919'. An inscription on the toposcope records that it was erected by Stoneywood Literary Guild in June 1917.
