Full Description
Farmstead. The original 18th century home farm of Delagatie Castle was of a rectangular-shape built round an open central court, with an arched entrance on the south side. A skew is dated 1768. The south front is of quoined red ashlar with a central segmental piend arch. Above the archway is a small niche with a statue and a window on either side of it and surmounted in turn with a pediment and bellcote. On either side of the archway are 2-storey, 4-window end bays with piend roofs. The east range was probably rebuilt or added to in 1864 and designed possibly by James Stuart. The west range was repaired in 1902, and the north range is relatively modern. There are also now a number of more modern additions.
