Full Description

War Memorial. The Auchterless war memorial stands in the churchyard of Auchterless parish church. It commemorates the dead of both World War I and II. It is a tall upright rectangular block of rough hewn granite with the words 'in memory' carved in relief near the top on the front, and a wreath near the base of it. This obelisk stands on an octagonal base, with the inscription plaques inset on each face, which in turn stands on a two-step octagonal plinth. It was unveiled on 27 June 1920.
