Full Description
The house was of 2-storeys. The derelict north wing is dated 1694 at the skew, but it may include earlier work, with the manor having withstood a brief siege in 1621. There is a moulded south doorway to the former court: a semi-circular north projection probably originally containing a stair. The southeast wing, at right angles, is mid-18th Century in date. There are piend angle scroll skews and an elliptical window at the south gable. The mansion has a 6-window front, chamfered openings, and a late porch addition. Only the base remains of a courtyard wall on the south. East of the house was a walled garden. During the 17th Century Hatton belonged to a branch of the Meldrum family who sold it in 1709 to the Duffs of Hatton.
The mansion was subject to fire damage at an unknown date, possibly in 2022.
