Full Description

Croft and smithy, depicted on historic OS maps, at which time it was named Croft Badenscoth of The 1st edition shows a two long ranges, each of two compartments and three smaller buildings. One is annotated as a Post Office. These have been altered or replaced by the time of the 2nd edition on which the west end of the north range is now an L-plan building annotated as a smithy, with a single building to the south. The smithy, of mid 19th century date is a single storey, L-plan rubble building with a small set of bending rolls outside. Current maps indicate the buildings are still in use, now named Belt Smithy.
