Full Description

Former Manse of Fyvie. Built 1830-1, it is a 2-storey 3-window building of squared heathen stone with red sandstone dressings to front, consoled doorpiece, harled gables and rear. It has a low-pitched broad-eaved roof, and bow stair at the back. Bay windows and a single-storey addition by James Duncan in 1906. The manse was also the birthplace in 1864 of Dr Cosmo Gordon Land, Baron of Lambeth, Archbishop of York, 1908-1928, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, 1928-1942.
