Full Description
It was in use as a Roman Catholic college from 1799 to 1829, when Blairs College, Maryculter opened. The mansion is of granite ashlar, 3-storey and attic, with a seven window front with entrance to centre bay, piended slated roof with piended dormers, and a pair of symmetrical axial stacks. The interior was remodelled since its function as a college ceased. The 2-storey galleried kitchen in the west section is now the kitchen at ground level. There is an ex-situ chimney piece in the entrance hall and an original chapel bell attached to the west gable. The site is named Auchorthies on the OS 1st edition map.
