Full Description

Remains of a whin-mill, a roller type of whin-mill now dismantled. The paved circular course on which the whins were crushed lies at the entrance to the farm and is complete with the exception of the central pillar which was removed as it interfered with free access to farm buildings. The roller stone, 1.11 m long, is now upright at gate of the neighbouring farm. The tackle has disappeared. The mill was made by an Inverurie mason, George Davidson, in about 1830. The stone measured circa 1.12 m in length, the paved course 1.73 m wide of radius 3.05 m.
