Full Description

Remains of chapel which was built by the widow of Sir Andrew Lesley on the site of her husband's murder in 1420. It has been the burial place of the Earls of Aberdeen at one time. The chapel measures 10m by 5.5m. The walls of earth bonded granite rubble are now turf-covered. At the gables the walls, 1.5m in thickness, stand at least 0.8m in height. An ill-defined gap in the west end of the south wall may indicate an entrance. The interior is bisected by a modern wall and the eastern half is filled with cleared stones. The chapel lies within a drystone walled enclosure measuring 19.2m by 16m, now planted with trees.
