Full Description
Farmstead, manor and possible site of medieval manor. The farmstead of Old Bourtie is depicted on the 1888 OS map but not on the earlier 1867. It is a U-shaped steading with open court to the south. A mill dam lies south of it. The house lies to the east. Today it has been altered with later additions. The pond still survives but now much smaller. A photo survey was carried out in 2009 prior to the conversion of the steading. Building survey of the farmhouse was carried out by MAS in February 2016 ahead of proposed demolition. To the northwest of the house were the foundations of a building shown on the 1924 OS map, part of the original north and east walls retained in use as a garden wall.
