Full Description
Remains of a cottage, depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps, with a well to the south. The ruins were recorded by MAS in 2012 as part of a walkover survey and desk based assessment prior to a planning application. The main building measured 15.4m by 5m externally with two smaller additions. The walls survived to a maximum height of 1.1m, and averaged 0.6m in thickness, built of well coursed rubble stone. One room retained its fireplace with iron swey still in position. The second room had two doors and a partition and may have been a byre.
