Full Description

Small farmstead, no longer in use. On the 1st edition OS map there is a single rectangular building shown. By the time of the 2nd edition OS map the building has been extended to the east and an enclosure added to the north elevation. There have been two buildings added to the north-east, one with an attached horsemill on the north side. Current maps show that the earlier building, the horsemill and the easternmost building have since been removed. A level 1 standing building survey was carried out on the remaining building in October 2015 by Cameron Archaeology prior to demolition. It is constructed from granite rubble, and is a single-storey building with a lean-to extension on the east elevation. Inside there is a granite cobble floor with wooden stalls surviving, used for the housing of animals.
