Full Description

Remains of two hut-circles lie on the top of a low ridge on Redhill, with a linear field bank and a stone clearance cairn scattered around them. The hut circles are visible as two interrupted roughly circular rings of turf-covered loose stone and a low, circular turf-covered mound. The western hut circle is situated on level ground and is now overgrown by grass. It appears to display two phases of construction. The earlier phase is 11 m in diameter, within a stony bank up to 2.5 m in thickness and 0.3 m in height. The entrance to this structure is in the east, measures 2 m in width and is flanked by expanded wall terminals up to 3 m in thickness. The second construction phase of this structure is represented by an oval depression in the centre of the circle's interior. It measures 8.8 m northwest-southeast by 7.3 m transversely and has a depth of 0.2 m. A cairn is located 10 m northeast of the hut circle. The second hut circle is sited on the summit of a low rise, circa 125 m to the east-southeast. It measures 9.2 m in diameter within a grass-grown stony bank, the entrance on the east measuring 1.2 m in width.
