Full Description

Remains of a recumbent stone circle of which only two pillars still stand some 2 m apart. They are probably the flankers of the recumbent stone, but the recumbent is missing. The east pillar shows signs of having been split and part removed. The west pillar has at least eight cup-marks showing near its base. Coles (1906) noted that in front of pillars lay four large blocks and close to the east pillar was an almost square block, vertical and earthfast, this may have been the beginning of an inner stone setting (cairn). Several large broken stones at the corner of a dyke to the northeast may have come from the circle. An urn containing very defaced coins was found on the site. The cup marks are on the lower part of the north side of the stone, comprising five cupmarks 5-8 cm in diameter.
