Full Description

House and shop, built in circa 1925. It is a three-storey, three-bay symmetrical block, with a slightly set back two-storey, single-bay entrance wing at the south return gable. It is constructed from coursed, bull-faced rubble, with a liberal use of tooled ashlar dressings and margins, and harled return gables and rear. The recessed centre door is flanked by enlarged shop windows. A long, narrow centre stair window is flanked in the outer bays by bipartites, identical in both floors. Between the ground and first-floors is a moulded cornice, and also at the wallhead below a blocking course. The set back entrance wing (Oakbank) has a doorway and window over. There is varied fenestration in return gables and at the rear, with a canted oriel at the rear of Oakbank. Plate glass glazing is used for the windows, and there is a piended slate roof with corniced wallhead stacks.
