Full Description

Walled garden, built in circa 1800. The squared and coursed, granite ashlar walled garden is approximately 90 metres x 90 metres, with shaped ashlar coping. The north wall has a rubble exterior with a central dividing wall. A large pointed arched gateway to the south has moulded architraves, and is set in an advanced panel with a corbel course. A ruinous pavilion to the north has a large segmental arch. There is a remounted, six-sided, facet-headed sundial that is hollowed with cups, hearts, trefoils and triangles on a columnar shaft to the centre of the garden. It is one of a group of buildings consisting a steading (NJ65SW0065), a farmhouse (NJ65SW0066) and a smithy (NJ65SW0067).
