Full Description
Remains of a possible stone circle or cairn of which four stones, all of grey granite, remain in situ. The small diameter (6.1m east-west) also suggested the kerb of a ring cairn rather than a stone circle. The measurement of the stones are: A - 0.90m high 1m long 0.40m thick, B - 1.1m high 1m long 0.50m thick, C - 0.50m high 1m long 0.2m thick, D - 0.50m high 0.9m long 0.2m thick. No other remains exist. The interior shows signs of having been disturbed. Recorded by HES in 2018 and described as a 'four-poster'. It stands on a roundel measuring circa 70m in diameter within a partly drystone wall, the interior largely planted with conifers, the planting overlying the remains of a rig system.
