Full Description

House, still in use, built in the early 19th century. It has a two-storey, three-window main block constructed from squared granite rubble that is harl-pointed with cherry-cocking. Ground floor rectangular ashlar bays have tripartite windows, modillioned cornices and blocking courses, a moulded eaves course with consoles, a later wooden an anta pedimented centre porch with fanlight. The piended roof has two stout chimneys at the gables. There are symmetrical, one-window, piend-roofed wings. A two-storey pinned rubble back wing was added perhaps 10 years later. It is very finely detailed with a little original plasterwork within. There is an associated steading to the north-west (NJ64SW0057), the east range of which was Course House prior to the construction of this house. There is an 18th century lodge to the south-east (NJ64SW0058).

Period Notes
Farmstead built c.1870. Previous notes state 'early 19thC; farm range dated 1733' which does not match up. Perhaps on site of an earlier range?
