Full Description
The footings of a farmstead lie to the southeast of Knowhead. It is depicted on the 1st edition OS map as a long rectangular building, a small building and a rectangular enclosure. These and two more buildings - one replacing the earlier small one - are shown on the OS 2nd edition map, the two westernmost buildings forming a long range. The site is visible on vertical aerial photographs taken in 1977. The remains were recorded by RCAHMS visit in 1996, the walls standing up to 1m in height.
