Full Description

Remains of a croft which is shown on Walker and Beattie's map of 1838. The OS 1st edition map shows a rectangular building with an enclosure to the south and a probable unroofed building to the north. Only the enclosure and larger building, then unroofed, appear on the 2nd edition map. The remains of a cottage were recorded by RCAHMS 1999. It measures 9.5 m by 4.9 m with walls 0.5 m thick standing up to 0.7 m and with a central entrance on the south-southeast side. It is one of a number of cottages and crofts that were established on the Commonty of Bennachie in the early 19th century.
