Full Description

Farmstead and farmhouse, still in use, probably built in the late-18th or early-19th century. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as a U-plan steading open to the east with an attached horse-mill to the north. To the south-west is an L-plan farmhouse with an attached garden enclosure to the south. There is a rectangular building to the north of the farmhouse. Opposite the entrance to the east of the farmstead is an L-plan building with a pump to the south. The building to the north of the farmhouse is removed on the 2nd edition OS map. Current maps show the horse-mill has been removed and the rectangular building to the east of the farmstead has been extended or replaced by a larger building, and the pump to the south has been removed. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out on the farmhouse in January 2017 prior to proposed demolition. It is a granite-built farmhouse of three phases. The original section is single-storey and attic, and has a lower single-storey addition to the north making up the second phase, both of which were probably built in the late-18th or early-19th century. The single-storey and attic section was added to the west forming an L-plan in the early to mid-19th century.

Period Notes
Probably originally built in the late-18th or early-19th century, with 19th century alterations and additions.
