Full Description
Farmstead, depicted on the 1st edition OS map as an L-plan steading and small square building. By the time of the 2nd edition map, the steading appears to have been altered to an F-plan structure. Parts of this structure appear to survive today, but may now be in residential use. Described in the sale particulars of Tonley Estate in 1947 as follows: 'The farm house constructed of granite and slate contains three bedrooms, sitting room and kitchen. The farm steading, in granite and iron, includes cart shed, loose box, two byres (one for five and one for eight), stable for two, root house, straw shed, threshing floor, threshing mill and granary'.
