Full Description

A granite boundary stone recorded by RCAHMS site visit in 1999, standing at the junction of two stone walls. It is a roughly hewn block. 0.3m square at the base, slightly tapering upwards and standing 0.8m high. On the northeast face is an incised letter L (for the Learney Estate) and on the southwest the letter C (Corsindae Estate). There are three wedge holes on the north corner of the stone. The OS 1st and 2nd edition maps depict a benchmark in this general location. A stone is shown on the current OS map. This was within the area of a walkover survey carried out by S Farrell in January 2019 (NJ60SE0060), although the site was not accessible at that time.
