Full Description

Remains of a clearance cairn and field boundary recorded during walkover survey by Cameron Archaeology in 2021 (NJ60NW0098). The cairn is circa 6m in diameter, standing up to 1m high, and comprising angular and sub-angular stones. It stands at the south end of a substantial drystone wall field boundary which enclosed an area of improved pasture on the northeast. The wall is built of angular field stones, now spread over an area of up to 2m from either side of the original wall line. Two breaks in the wall are not thought to be original.
