Full Description

Remains of a croft steading within an enclosed garden. It has gone out of use by the 1st edition OS map, when it is depicted only as a tree-lined rectangular enclosure. The trees are not shown on the 2nd edition OS map, however when visited in 1999 by RCAHMS massive beech trees still remained. The trees have since been cut down. The remains of the steading comprise a platform measuring 24 metres by 4.5 metres (78ft 8in x 14ft 9in), dug into the south-facing slope on the north side of the garden. Only vestigial traces of any stonework were remaining when it was visited in 1999.
