Full Description
The steel tanker BAKU STANDARD, carrying a cargo of crude oil from Greenock to the Firth of Forth, was torpedoed 5 miles SxW 1/2 W from Tod Head on the 11th February 1918 by German submarine UC 58 (under the command of Kptlt. Karl Vesper) and sunk. There were 24 casualties reported.
