Full Description
Remains of a Coastal Defence and Chain Home Low World War II radar station (no M145). One building is still standing and the bases of other buildings are still visible, along with an underground engine room. Mast bases are visible on the roof of the building. Chain Home Low (CHL) was the name of a British early warning radar system used by the RAF during the Second World War. CHL stations were able to detect aircraft at lower altitudes than the original Chain Home Low stations. (Alternative name spelling Crannock Hill).
