Full Description

Remains of a building and two lime kilns recorded by RCAHMS 1997. The building, situated on a small low promontory, measures 13 m by 3.8 m, the remains comprising the northeast wall and northwest gable which retains a fireplace. The other walls have been reduced to footings. About 3.6 m from the northwest gable on the north wall is a semi-circular stone built structure with a cross wall. Two lime kilns are set into the steep slope to the southeast at NJ 56245 66236 and NJ 56243 66230. They are lined with stone and were half buried under earth slippage at the time of the visit. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey recorded another possible lime kiln eroding out of the nearby coast edge at NJ5621866238.
